How to absorb diet nutrition information every day

As I travel around London each day, I am offered free newspapers that contain some great tid-bits about nutrition, diet and its effects on the human body.

Browsing today’s London Metro provided these two great snippets of advice:

“Eating sweets(candy) every day in childhood increases aggressive behavior in adult life, says new research. Analysis of almost 17,500 people found that ten-year-olds who ate sweets (candy) daily were significantly more likely to have been convicted of violence between the ages of 29 and 34.
Researchers found 69 per cent of the participants who were violent at that age had eaten sweets (candy) and chocolates nearly every day when young, compared with 42 per cent who were non-violent.
This link remained after controlling other factors, said Cardiff University researchers using the 1970 British Cohort Study.”

“Soy sauce ‘can cut heart attack risk’

Good news for fans of Chinese food – soy sauce could help prevent heart attacks and cancer.
It contains high levels of of several health boosting chemicals called tocopherols, Canadian scientists say.
These compounds contain anti-oxidants, which help stop dangerous cells growing. Tocopherols exist in four forms, one of which is found in the greatest concentrations in soya beans, which is one of the sauce’s main ingredients.”

So instead of concentrating on the latest celebrity gossip, look for these golden nuggets in your newspaper and act upon them. It may just be a life-saver.
